His Life
Will Ferrell was born on July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California. As a student in high school Will was studious and a bit quiet. He had set his mark as having the most field goals made in football. He first became interested in acting when he would do his Morning announcements on the P.A system during his senior year of high school. When he would make his impersonations of people.
After graduating high school in 1986 he chose to go to the University of Southern California at Los Angles to get a degree in sports journalism.
After his graduation in 1989, Ferrell started off as an intern for the NBC networks sport department. It did not last very long, shortly afterwards he moved back home and began perusing his acting career. He first started off with a popular improv group called The Groundlings improving on his impersonation skills.
He was casted by SNL in 1995 for season 6. During the auditions he had to use impersonations of 3 characters. They then told him that they needed an impression of the president and he did Bill Clinton and was hired on the spot. Within one week he landed 3 sitcom jobs. During his first year of being on SNL he was considered to be the worst cast member ever. He kept improving over time doing impersonations of George Bush and Alex Trebek on jeopardy.
Ferrells first movie appearance was in the first Austin Powers movie where he made a short, but funny appearance in 1998. He then stared in Night at the Roxbury which didn’t get a lot of good rating, but it was the start of his expansive movie career. As he was being flooded with movie offers The producers of SNL had offered him a $350,000 plus salary from the show in 2001. After a year he left and begun going into movies. After having a signauture role in the 2003 movie Old School. Ferrell then went to having the role as Buddy in the funny and memroable movie Elf in 2003.
